Delhi Weather: Once again the rain has exposed the negligence of the administrative staff in Delhi. After the rains that started on Wednesday evening, many areas of Delhi have been submerged. Roads have become rivers. The vehicles are seen moving crawling. Instructions have been given to keep all schools closed today.
Rain has once again become a disaster for Delhi. The rains that started in Delhi from Wednesday evening continued overnight, after which many areas of Delhi including Sarita Vihar, Daryaganj, Pragati Maidan and ITO turned into ponds. Its effect was visible on Thursday morning as well and even today roads were seen submerged in many areas of Delhi.
Since Thursday morning, vehicles were seen crawling due to waterlogging on the roads. Due to deteriorating conditions due to rain, school holiday has been declared in Delhi today. Some colleges will also remain closed during this period.
Two people have died due to late night rain in Delhi. According to the police, 22-year-old Tanuja and her three-year-old son Priyansh had gone to the weekly market near Khoda Colony in Ghazipur area. During this he slipped and fell into a drain. The official said both were rescued with the help of divers and cranes and taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Apart from this, 3 people have died in Gurugram after coming in contact with high tension wires after heavy rains. The incident occurred late at 10 pm on Wednesday night. A woman and a man died after a wall collapsed in Dadri town of Greater Noida. This means that in the last 24 hours, 7 people have died in Delhi-NCR.
Man injured in house collapse
One person was injured after a house collapsed in Sabzi Mandi area of North Delhi. A Delhi Fire Services official said a house collapsed in Sabzi Mandi area near Ganta Ghar near Robin Cinema. Five fire brigades were sent to the spot. One man was rescued from the debris. One person was taken to hospital in a critical condition, while a woman was injured when a wall collapsed in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, the official said.
All schools of Delhi will remain closed today
After heavy rains in the capital Delhi, there was waterlogging in many areas. After this, the government decided that all the schools of Delhi will remain closed today i.e. on Thursday. Apart from this, red alert for rain has also been issued in Delhi. Delhi Traffic Police has also issued a traffic advisory.
Route of 10 flights changed
Due to bad weather at Delhi airport, the route of 10 flights has been changed. The official said that due to bad weather, the routes of at least 10 flights have been changed at the airport after 7.30 pm on Wednesday evening. Of these, eight flights have been sent to Jaipur and two flights to Lucknow.
Delhi Education minister announced school closed today (1 August)
